About Your Debit Master Card

How do I get a Debit Master Card?

The Norwood Bank Debit Master Card comes with Personal Banking Accounts, Business Banking Accounts, Statement Savings Account, and Money Market Accounts.

Is my Debit Master Card a credit card?

No. It is an enhanced Norwood Bank ATM card which you can use for payment of purchases anywhere MasterCard® is accepted. Your purchases are automatically withdrawn from your Norwood Bank primary Checking/NOW account.

Where can I use my Debit Master Card?

Anywhere that MasterCard credit cards are accepted: retail stores, restaurants, supermarkets, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, etc. In fact, at over 12 million locations around the world. Also, you can use it at thousands of ATMs displaying the MAC®, NYCE® or Cirrus® network logos.

How do I activate a new Debit Master Card?

Simply use it at an ATM with your chosen Personal Identification Number (PIN).

How do I use my Debit Master Card?

It's as simple as using a credit card. When you make a purchase, you sign a sales slip. The purchase amount is withdrawn from the available funds (up to your daily card limit) in your Norwood Bank primary Checking/NOW account. At an ATM, use your Debit Master Card just as you would your ATM Card.

What are the benefits?

There are many conveniences. No need to carry a checkbook, or to spend time writing checks. You won't need credit cards, identification or lots of cash. It can save money too. There are no monthly or annual fees. No finance charges. And, you probably won't need as many checkbooks either.

How do I keep track of my purchases?

You receive a receipt with each Debit Master Card purchase and ATM transaction. You should record each amount in your check register. All purchases and ATM transactions are listed on your monthly Checking Account statement.

What if I want to return a purchase made with Debit Master Card?

No problem. It's like returning merchandise purchased with a credit card. Just be sure to save your receipt in case you need to return an item. Your rights relating to funds and returned merchandise are the same as when you pay with cash or checks. You must resolve issues of this type directly with the merchant. It is the merchant's own policy on refunds and returns that govern these transactions.

What accounts can I access?

For ATM use, you will be able to access the Checking/NOW and Savings accounts you designate on your application. Debit Master Card purchases are withdrawn only from your Norwood Bank primary Checking/NOW account.

Can my spouse and I have our own Debit Master Cards?

Yes, as long as each of you have a checking account and qualify.
